Morales, Mark CAPT 1 E51 arrived and was assigned by Upland Command to compete recon of the affected furnace and confirm the building had been evacuated. E51 brought in a four gas monitor in with them. E51 confirmed that the gas meter had been shut off and it was. E51 confirmed that the building was evacuated and the gas meter was shut off. E51 was reassigned to on deck side A -Alpha. E51 was assigned by command to repositioned E51 and pull a dry hand line for E 11, standby team. E51 was released by Command. E51 returned in service. Eleven units were assigned to this incident. Seven personnel responded. We arrived on scene at 0915 hours and cleared at 1017 hours. The incident occurred at 365 Upland Dr, Tukwila in District 006. The local station is 51. The general description of this property is manufacturing, processing. The primary task(s) performed at the scene by responding personnel was hazard removal. Other special haz mat actions were also taken. Automatic aid was received on this incident. Alarm number 1600429 has been assigned to this incident. E51, E52, B51, Kent Fire HM76, L76, A71, Renton Fire E11, E13 were dispatched to a natural gas leak inside a building. B51 arrived to find a large, two-story, concrete tilt -up with nothing visible and evacuated. B51 estblished Upland Command and made contact with building representatives. A fork lift had struck and broke a gas line on a ceiling mounted heater. The building representative had shut the gas meter on the exterior of the building prior to our arrival. E52 was assigned to isolate and deny entry to the building. HM76 was assigned as HazMat Group Supervisor. E 11 and E 13 were assigned as standby teams on side Alpha and Delta. L46 was assigned to ventilate the building. Air monitoring was conducted in the building and found to be in normal limits and not hazardous. PSE was called to thescene and evaluated the natural gas system. The building was returned to building representatives for repair of the system and the heater.
