At 2323 hours on Wednesday February 24, 2016 we were dispatched to a hazardous
condition. One unit was assigned to this incident. Three personnel responded. We arrived
on scene at 2323 hours and cleared at 2335 hours. The incident occurred at 17770
SOUTHCENTER Pky, TUKWILA in District 006. The local station is 51. The general
description of this property is restaurant or cafeteria. The primary task(s) performed at the
scene by responding personnel was investigation. No mutual/automatic aid was given or
received.
Alarm number 1600860 has been assigned to this incident.
E51 sent to investigate a possible cooking oil spill at a restaurant by B51.
E51 arrived and tied in with the manager who showed us where the spill had occurred.
The waste oil container had been emptied earlier in the day and was damaged when it was
returned to its storage spot.
E51 found the drain, approximately 6" square immediately adjacent to the south side of the
building near the rear kitchen entrance on east side of the ramp.
E51 investigated the storm drain located in the access road to the south of the building and
found no evidence of the oil getting into the storm sewer system, the water was below the
outfall pipe and no oil sheen was seen on the water inside the drain.
E51 returned in service and tied in with B51 upon returning to station 51.
See B51 narrative for additional information.

Narrative Text B51 received a page from a Valley Com supervisor that a DOE representative was
inquiring about a 6 gallons of cooking oil waste that may gave gotten into the storm drain
at Famous Daves. B51 did not know anything about this, since a call was never initiated
for this incident. B51 told the DOE rep., Buck Smith that we would go out and investigate.

followed up with Smith (the DOE rep) and let him know what what found. Smith was
happy with the actions taken and did not need any further action by Tukwila Fire. Smith
did say, he would send a request to Tukwila Public Works to fmd out were the drains lead
to in that area. B51 updated Valley Com on what had taken place and requested that an
