E51 was dispatched to 1374 Southcenter Mall for a natural gas leak. E51 was assigned to
recon the effected area of the mall using a four gas monitor. E51 smelt a odor of natural
gas upon entering the main East entrance to the mall. E51 notified Command of this
finding then went on air to complete the assignment.
E51 requested to have mall security to use the overhead paging system to notify everyone
within the mall to evacuate. E51 cleared the effected area of the mall and got normal
reading on the four gas monitor. E51 exited the mall.
E51 then was assigned to assist E52 with water supply and deploying precautionary
handlines.
At the conclusion of this incident E51 assited E52 to returning its hose on to E52.
E51 returned in-service.

Narrative Text At 0452 hours on Friday March 11, 2016 we were dispatched to a gas leak. Nine units
were assigned to this incident. Fourteen personnel responded. We arrived on scene at 0459
hours and cleared at 0652 hours. The incident occurred at 1374 Southcenter Mall, Tukwila
in District 004. The local station is 51. The general description of this property is
restaurant or cafeteria. The primary task(s) performed at the scene by responding
personnel was investigation. Other special haz mat actions were also taken. Automatic aid
was received on this incident.
Alarm number 1601092 has been assigned to this incident.
Dispatched to report of natural gas leak inside a commercial structure. E51 and B51
arrived to find an odor of gas. B51 established command, created a hazMat group, created
a safe area and denied entry, evacuated the Mall and utilized the building systems to
ventilate the area.
FIM 14 located the source of the leak and shut down the gas supply. PSE arrived to
investigate and repair the leak. 7()
