At 1343 hours on Monday March 14, 2016 we were dispatched to an oil or other
combustible liquid spill. Two units were assigned to this incident. Three personnel
responded. We arrived on scene at 1349 hours and cleared at 1413 hours. The incident
occurred at 14054 Military Rd S, Tukwila in District 011. The local station is 54. The
general description of this property is 1 or 2 family dwelling. The primary task(s)
performed at the scene by responding personnel was investigation. Automatic aid was
received on this incident.
Alarm number 1601164 has been assigned to this incident.
E53 responded in place of E47 for reported spill.
Upon Arrival E53 met with the reporting party, Jeff Lindgren, who reported that his
neighbor has leaking containers of oil. Mr. Lindgren's main concern was that the oil was
leaking onto his property and into the environment. He became aware of the problem the
day before when a wind storm blew a tree over that damaged his fence. Upon his

investigation he found 5 5 -gallon containers of what he suspected as oil. One of the
containers was crushed and lodged under the fallen tree.
E53 met the the neighbor, Phuong Huynh, who confirmed that the containers were his. He
agreed to move the containers away from his neighbors property and dispose the material
the next day. E53 assisted by cutting the tree so the container lodged under the tree could
be removed. There was about 1 gallon of oil released into Mr. Huynh's property.
Mr. Lindgren was satisfied that the problem was resolved. The containers were moved
next to Mr. Huynh's truck who said he would transport the material to a proper recycling
facility the next day.
E 53 returned in service at 1413 hrs.
