At 1016 hours on Tuesday April 12, 2016 we were dispatched to a gasoline or other
flammable liquid spill. One unit was assigned to this incident. Three personnel responded.
We arrived on scene at 1024 hours and cleared at 1045 hours. The incident occurred at
3118 S 140 St, Tukwila in District 014. The local station is 54. The general description of
this property is vehicle parking area. The primary task(s) performed at the scene by
responding personnel were hazardous materials leak control and containment. No
mutual/automatic aid was given or received.
Alarm number 1601618 has been assigned to this incident.
L54 was dispatched to the above address for gas leaking from a vehicle. Upon our arrival
we found a small amount (maybe a gallon) of gasoline had leaked out of a plastic gas tank
from a van. There were two small holes in the tank where someone had apparently been
stealing gas. It was no longer actively dripping.
We put down a handful of Amerizob and used pig putty to plug the two small holes. We
instructed the owners of the van that the little gas on the ground would evaporate over the
course of the day.
L54 returned in service.
