Page 1 Date: 03/11/96 Incident: 96-000823-000
Dispatched to a small oil spill. Upon arrival at the intersection of
141st and 37 Ave S., we found a light ,oil sheen on S. 141st street the
entire distance between 37 Ave S and Pacific Hy. 5.. I requested PD for
traffic and to notify public works to come out with a sand truck. The
RP met us at the intersection and reported that cars were spinning
their tires in the area.,
PD arrived and did some skid tests on the pavement. It -did not seem to
bad. His antilock brakes kicked in before he ever skidded. He
contacted. shops and they informed him that they were.aware of the spill
and were expecting it to evaporate off. .I then released the scene to
the officer,.who was in agreement with the shops. -
It is unknown where the spill originated from. It seemed to be the
worse at 37th and 141st, but did stretch all the way to Pacific Hy 5..
The RP stated she first noticed the spill that morning when she came
home from work, and she had no idea where it came from.
