TUKWILA FIRE DEPARTMENT INCIDENT REPORT NARRATIVE
Date: 10/09/96 Incident: 96--003584-000
Dispatched to a strong odor of natural gas in a residence. As we
arrived
Fire One advised that the house next door has the same problem. Our
investigation found an odor similar to meth gas from a sewer. Mr.
Robbins stated the odor started around 4 pm today. He called the sewer
dept. to
see if they were flushing out the lines. They told hill they did not do
anything today. It finally got so strong that he called 911, fearing it
might be natural gas. We ventilated both structures with our PPV. The
odor was
gone and did not return while we were there.
We advised the occupants if the odor returned to contact the sewer
department again and see if they could check out the problem.
