TUKWILA FIRE DEPARTMENT INCIDENT REPORT NARRATIVE
Date: 07/19/99 Incident: 99-002342-000
Dispatched to a possible meth lab. PD was on location of a abandoned
vehicle on Interurban in the 15400 block. PD stated his eyes burned a
little from being around the car. Upon our arrival I sent a recon team
to look inside the car. They found a plastic tub with a lock on it. We
could see inside the container, and saw Ephedrin tablets, filters, and
tubes. It was enough to determine this
was a meth lab. The carpeted floor in the back seat was wet with some
sort of liquid. I checked the liquid with litmus paper and our chem
strips that check multiple chemical groups. All test were negative.
There was no reaction on the paper or the strip.
In consultation with Washington State Patrol and our local police
department, it was determined that this was a crime scene and not a
hazardous materials spill, and that the car would be impounded and
moved to a secure area. State Patrol said they would be out as soon as
possible to take care of the lab. We then returned to quarters.
