TUKWILA, WASHINGTON AWARDING THE BID FOR THE
PURCHASE OF A DUMP TRUCK FOR THE STREET
DEPARTMENT TO THE LOWEST RESPONSIBLE BIDDER.
WHEREAS, the City did solicit competitive Bids for the purchase of a dump truck to
be used by the Street Department; and,
WHEREAS, such bids were opened by the City Clerk's Office and read aloud on
February 16, 1993; and,
WHEREAS, bids were received from Jerry Chambers Chevrolet, Husky International
Trucks, Inc., and Dwayne Lane's GMC Truck Center; and,
WHEREAS, each bid was reviewed for conformance to the formal bid specifications
issued at the time bids were solicited; and,
WHEREAS, the lowest apparent bidder, Jerry Chambers Chevrolet, did not meet the
required specifications for the section module of the frame; and,
WHEREAS, the second lowest bidder did comply with the specifications as stipulated
when bids were solicited, thus providing a responsible bid for the purposes of competitive
bidding as required in RCW 35.23.352;
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON
HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The apparent low bid of $42,236.25 by Jerry Chambers Chevrolet is not
accepted due to the failure to meet the required specifications for frame section modules.
Section 2. The bid for the purchase of one 1993 4 X 2 CAB CHASSIS W /FRAME
EXTENSION is hereby awarded to the lowest responsible bidder, Husky International
Trucks, Inc., in the amount of $42,693.26 plus tax
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNgIL OF T�ITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, at
a regular meeting thereof this 22nd day of March 1993.
