TUKWILA, WASHINGTON AWARDING THE BID FOR THE
PURCHASE OF A VIDEO INSPECTION UNIT FOR THE
SEWER AND SURFACE WATER DEPARTMENTS TO THE
LOWEST RESPONSIBLE BIDDER.
WHEREAS, the City did solicit competitive Bids for the purchase of a video
inspection unit to be used by the Sewer and Surface Water Departments; and,
WHEREAS, such bids were opened by the City Clerk's Office and read aloud on
January 29, 1993; and,
WHEREAS, bids were received from R.S. Technical Services, Cues, Flexible Video
Systems, and Ben -Ko -Matic Brush and Equipment Co.; and
WHEREAS, each bid was reviewed for conformance with the formal bid
specifications issued at the time bids were solicited; and,
WHEREAS, the apparent lowest bidder, R.S. Technical Services, did not meet the
required specifications for the unit as identified in the attached bid evaluation memo dated
February 5, 1993; and,
WHEREAS, the second lowest bidder did comply with the specifications as stipulated
when bids were solicited, thus providing a responsible bid for the purposes of competitive
bidding as required in RCW 35.23.352;
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON
HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The apparent low bid by R.S. Technical Services is not accepted due to the
failure to meet the required specifications.
Section 2. The bid for the purchase of one 1993 Video Inspection Unit with selected
options is hereby awarded to the lowest responsible bidder, Ben -Ko -Matic Brush and
Equipment Co., in the amount of $131,994.26.
PASSED BY THE CITY CO OF THE ITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, at
a regular meeting thereof this 5th day of April 1993.
