commitment has volunteered time, materials, expertise and friends to members of the Tukwila
community and the City, a public agency; and
WHEREAS, he has provided advance planning for expeditions onto the Green, Duwamish and
Black rivers; and
WHEREAS, he has led numerous novices and experts onto the icy and sometimes rough waters
of these rivers; and
WHEREAS, those expeditions onto the water have sometimes turned to adventures; and
WHEREAS, he has acted with bravery, strength and distinction in the execution of those
expeditions; and
WHEREAS, his actions reflect the true spirit of community service; and
WHEREAS, these actions have earned the respect and gratitude of the citizens of Tukwila;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA,
WASHINGTON, DOES HEREBY commend Lee Moyers for his exceptional commitment and
embodiment of "community spirit" and "volunteerism." The City is thankful for his expedition
planning, paddling skills, generosity and the expert perspective he has provided to the City on river
related issues.
