mower to be used for maintenance at Foster Golf Links; and
WHEREAS, such bids were opened by the City Clerk's Office and read aloud on
March 30, 1993; and
WHEREAS, bids were received from Western Equipment Distributors and Machinery
Components Co., Inc.; and
WHEREAS, each bid was reviewed for conformance with the formal bid
specifications issued at the time bids were solicited; and
WHEREAS, the apparent lowest bidder, Machinery Components Co., Inc., did not
meet the required specifications for the unit as explained in the attached staff report dated
April 20, 1993; and
WHEREAS, the second lowest bidder did comply with the specifications as stipulated
when bids were solicited, thus providing a responsible bid for the purposes of competitive
bidding as required in RCW 35.23.352;
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON
HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The apparent low bid by Machinery Components Co., Inc. is not accepted
due to the failure to meet the required specifications.
Section 2. The bid for the purchase of one 1993 five gang reel mower is hereby
awarded to the lowest responsible bidder, Western Equipment Distributors, in the amount of
$36,385, plus sales tax.

a regular meeting thereof this 3rd day of May 1993.
