A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, SUPPORTING THE
UPCOMING SOUTH CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT
BOND FOR SCHOOL MAINTENANCE, MODERNIZA-
TION AND EXPANSION.
WHEREAS, the South Central School District is wholly within the City of
Tukwila boundaries, and
WHEREAS, Cascade View Elementary was built in 1957 and is badly in need of
repairs, modernization and expansion, and
WHEREAS, Showalter Middle school was built 55 years ago and is also in need
of repairs, modernization and expansion, and
WHEREAS, the school district is seeking approval of a $20,186,000 bond to
improve the two schools, and
WHEREAS, the issue will be voted on by use of a mail -in ballot;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA,
WASHINGTON, hereby supports the May 18, 1993 school bond issue to improve the
schools.
