Resolution No. 1254
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE
DONATION OF ONE HUNDRED TUKWILA HISTORY
BOOKS TO SCHOOLS.
WHEREAS, the City of Tukwila sponsored a history book to be written of the
City and surrounding area, and
WHEREAS, the history book was written by dozens of dedicated citizen
volunteers, and included thousands of hours of research, oral interviews, writing,
reviewing and editing, and
WHEREAS, the information in the history book includes pioneer life in the area,
early settlers, twentieth century leaders, regional events, politics and economics, and
WHEREAS, the information in the book can be used by local schools in a variety
of classes to help students learn of the people and actions that make up the City and
region's history, and
WHEREAS, the City published the book in 1991 for sale and use by any citizens
interested in the area's past history, and believes the book's use in schools will benefit
our City,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA,
WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That the City donate 100 "Tukwila Community at the Crossroads" history
books to be used by the South Central and Highline School Districts for
school classes.

WASHINGTON, at a regular meeting thereof this 3rd day of May 1993
