HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 1255 - Direct Petition Annexation of Certain Properties J ,�vdILA, N C O.' :2 IGi Q i s c O M 1908 C ity of u kwi a Washington Resolution No. 1255 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, TO AUTHORIZE PROCEEDING WITH THE DIRECT PETITION ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTIES AND INITIALLY ESTABLISHING ANNEX- ATION PROVISIONS. WHEREAS, the owners of certain properties (as described in Exhibit A) have submitted notice of their intention to commence annexation proceedings to the City of Tukwila (Exhibit A), and WHEREAS, this notice has been submitted pursuant to RCW 35A.14.120 and is on file with the Tukwila City Clerk, and WHEREAS, the City Clerk has certified that said owners represent not less than 10 of the value of property in a potential annexation area (Exhibit B), and WHEREAS, the City Council is required to meet with the property owners giving notice, to initially establish annexation provisions pursuant to RCW 35A.14.120, and WHEREAS, initial conditions are subject to later modification by the Council after detailed review, but must be finalized prior to circulation of an annexation petition to all property owners, and WHEREAS, City staff has reviewed their initial findings with the City Council; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Annroval to Proceed. The City Council hereby approves staff proceeding with the Direct Petition annexation process pursuant to RCW 35A.14.120. Section 2. Initial Annexation Provisions Established. The City Council hereby establishes the following initial annexation provisions, subject to later review: A. The annexation area boundary shall be as described in Exhibit C, B. Assumption of bonded indebtedness shall not be required, and C. Simultaneous annexation zoning shall be established. This area abuts the City of Tukwila and is located generally to the west of East Marginal Way at approximately the Boeing access road, and to the east of West Marginal Place South. In conjunction with other property owners in this Oxbow Area, whom we understand will also be submitting requests similar to this one, we would like to consider circulating a petition for annexation of this property by the City of Tukwila. Please set a hearing within 60 days after receipt of this notice so that we may determine the specifics of the annexation petition.
