HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 1256 - Reject All Bids for South 180th Street Bridge Widening A, wgs Q: o isos City o f Tukw Washington Resolution No. 1256 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON REJECTING ALL BIDS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE SOUTH 180TH STREET BRIDGE WIDENING PROJECT AS PROVIDED IN RCW 35.23.352. WHEREAS, the City did solicit competitive Bids for the construction of the South 180th Bridge Widening Project; and WHEREAS, such bids were opened by the City Clerk's Office and read aloud on April 7, 1993; and WHEREAS, bids were received from Progressive Concrete, Inc. and Structures, Inc.; and WHEREAS, the low bid for the project exceeded the Engineer's Estimate by 37.7 percent; and WHEREAS, the dollar amount of the low bid exceeded the Engineer's Estimate by approximately $300,000; and WHEREAS, award of the project to the low bidder would represent a substantial cost to the City in excess of what was budgeted for and planned; and WHEREAS, Washington State Statutes (RCW 35.23.352) provides for the rejection of any or all bids by resolution of the City Council; NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. All bids for the South 180th Street Bridge Widening Project, as opened by the City Clerk's Office on April 7, 1993, are hereby rejected.
