HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 1259 - IAC for Outdoor Recreation Grant Application - Community Park ,��11LA, �J ::..............qty 01 :2 rQ ;O d) 1906 C ity of u kwi a Washington Resolution No. 1259 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR FUNDING ASSISTANCE FOR AN OUTDOOR RECREATION PROJECT TO THE INTERAGENCY COMMITTEE FOR OUTDOOR RECREATION AS PROVIDED BY THE WASHINGTON WILDLIFE RECREATION PROGRAM. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tukwila will adopt a "Comprehensive Park and Recreation Plan" prior to entering into an agreement with I.A.C. for the urban area which identifies a community park in the central part of the City; and WHEREAS, under the provisions of the Washington Wildlife Recreation Program, state and federal funding assistance has been authorized and made available to aid in financing the cost of land for parks and habitat conservation areas and the construction of outdoor recreational facilities of local public bodies; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tukwila considers it in the best public interest to acquire a community park in the central part of the City generally located south of I -405 and east of I -5; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: 1. That the Mayor be authorized to make formal application to the Interagency committee for Outdoor Recreation for funding assistance, 2. That any fund assistance so received be used for the acquisition of 24.6 acres of land in the central part of the City of Tukwila, Washington, 3. That the City's share of the project will be derived from Tukwila's King County Open Space Bond funds, 4. That any property acquired with financial aid through the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation be placed in use as an outdoor recreation facility and be retained in such use in perpetuity unless as otherwise provided and agreed to by the City Council, the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation, and any affected federal agency, 5. That this resolution become part of a formal application to the Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation, 6. That adequate notification has been given and the opportunity provided for public input and that published notices have identified affected flood plains and /or wetlands, if application.
