HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 1268 - Bid Award - MA Segale Inc for Southcenter Parkway and Strander Boulevard Improvements c� Cifty Of Tu it Washington Resolution No. 1268 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON AWARDING THE BID FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE SOUTHCENTER PARKWAY /STRANDER BLVD STREET IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT TO THE LOWEST RESPONSIBLE; BIDDER. WHEREAS, the City (lid solicit competitive Bids for the construction of improvements to Southcenter Parkway /Strander Blvd.; and WHEREAS, such bids were opened by the City Clerk's Office and read aloud at 2:00 p.m. on July 27, 1993; and WHEREAS, bids were received from Gary Merlino Construction Co., M.A. Segale, Inc., and Lakeridge Paving Co.; and WHEREAS, each bid was reviewed for conformance to the formal bid specifications issued at the time bids were solicited; and WHEREAS, the bid documents submitted by Lakeridge Paving Co. did not include a completed form certifying their utilization of Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE); and WHEREAS, the failure: by Lakeridge Paving Co. to provide DBE Certification disqualifies their bid as unresponsive; and WHEREAS, M.A. Segale, Inc. submitted a responsible bid for the purposes of competitive bidding as required in RCW 35.23.352; NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The apparent low bid of $444,476.60 by Lakeridge Paving Co. is not accepted because it does not include the required certification for Disadvantaged Business Enterprises. Section 2. The bid for the construction of the Southcenter Parkway /Strander Boulevard Street Improvements Project is hereby awarded to the lowest responsible bidder, M.A. Segale, Inc., in the amount of $490,645.20 including tax.
