Buitrago Senior Field Representative/Plan Review jose.buitrago@wsrb.com (206)-273-7157 The attached plans have been reviewed as follows: The following revisions or additions to the design as shown would qualify the protection for improved rates based upon information shown on these plans. Arrangements should be made to allow a representative of this Bureau to complete a cover inspection of all piping before it is concealed by building construction and to witness tests of the local alarm and 2 -inch water supply test pipe. Completed copies of the Contractor's Material and Test Certificates for both the overhead and underground piping should be submitted to this Bureau. All piping, valves, and fittings should be listed and labeled by UL for fire service and installed, tested, and flushed in accordance with NFPA standards. A minimum temperature of 40°F must be maintained with a thermostatically controlled heating system in all areas containing wet pipe sprinkler equipment. 1. Provide detailed information regarding location and date of flow test, number and diameters of outlets flowed, pitot pressures, whether or not stream straighteners were used. Flow test has to be conducted within the last 5 years. Flow tests generated by computer model are not acceptable. 2. The design of .15/1,500 is acceptable for ordinary group I. The design should be reinforced to adequately protect the increased hazards. Extend the fire area in the attic to include the 1,500 sq. ft. See Article 12.1.5* in NFPA 2002. 3. Hydraulic Calculations does not include 100 gpm at the base of the riser (BOR) for inside hose allowance as required per WSRB for all hazards plus the 250 gpm for outside hose allowance as per NFPA 13. 4. Provide a variable pressure alarm valve for wet system and outside water motor alarm gong. 5. Provide an outside property indicating control valve (P1V) and wall indicating system control valve (WIV). 6. Hangers should be installed according to UL listing and as specified by NFPA 13. 7. Provide sleeve with minimum 2 -inch clearance around supply mains through concrete floors and around piping through masonry walls or partitions. 8. Insulation batts should be secured in place with wire mesh to prevent sagging and possible obstruction to sprinkler discharge. 9.
