1. The fire alarm system plans affixed hereto have been
reviewed and accepted as meeting or exceeding minimum
requirements of the City of Tukwila Fire Department, Bureau
of Fire Prevention, with the following notes:
2. If there is an attic space in this building, detectors
shall be placed in this area.
3. Remote indicator lights are required on all above
ceiling smoke detectors. (UFC 10.301)
4. Audible signal devices shall be installed to indicate
a fire alarm condition. They shall be so located that
their operation will be heard clearly, regardless of the
maximum noise level. (NFPA 72A, 2-5.4) (UFC 10.301)

per City of Tukwila Ordinance #2437, section 16.40.120-D and Ordinance #2436, section 16.42.100-C
(see reverse side). The fire watch shall be maintained until the system(s) are operational as determined
by the Tukwila Fire Marshal's Office. FAX paperwork to 206-575-4439 to verify the completion of
repair work and/or the restoration of system monitoring, in order to end the fire watch.
The fire watch is required 24 hours a day. Designated employees may serve as the fire watch during
business hours, while performing their regular job. Fire watch personnel must be aware of, and accept
the duties of the fire watch.
After hours fire watch personnel must be on location and must patrol the building following the close of

owner.
Due to the inoperative lire protection system(s) in your facility, you are required to provide a
Fire Watch.

SCOPE OF WORK
Heatherwood Apartments
5851 S 152nd St Tukwila, WA 98168
Tenant Improvement for the cabana and connection of the street PIV and OS&Y in the
pit outside building E per the Tukwila fire department.
1. Replace the existing fire control panel
2. Replacement of one existing annunciator
3. One manual pull station (existing)
4. Five heat detectors (existing)
5. One smoke detector (to be installed)
6. Addition of two strobes
7. Addition of one horn strobe
8. Connection of two new contractor installed and maintained sprinkler tamper
switches to the fire control panel
The new fire control panel will become fully addressable.
All existing fire devices will be made addressable to become compatible with the new
fire control panel.
The wire sizes are 16 AWG 4 for the notification circuits.
The notification circuit is approximately 30'
The exterior bell on each building is triggered by relays so only the building in alarm
is tripped and made audible.
Attached map shows location of exterior bells on each building and sprinkler rooms
on site.
Washington Alarm will provide the following:

Reliance Fire Protection Inc. has been contracted to remove and replace pendent sprinkler heads
That has been painted at the Heatherwood Apartment complex in Tukwila. Per our phone
conversation, we are required to get an over the counter permit to track this work and to get a
shutdown number from Tukwila Fire. I also understand that we will be required to perform a
hydrostatic test on the systems that we replace the heads in.
Please note that Reliance Fire Protection Inc. is installing the same head as the one that is being
Removed.
