Resolution No. 1272 --1 Y�3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL. OF THE CITY
OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, ESTABLISHING A
WAGE PLAN FOR NON REPRESENTED EMPLOYEES
AND REPEALING RESOLUTIONS #1164 AND 1217.
WHEREAS, the City Council has made a commitment to conduct a pay study for
non represented employees every three years, beginning in the Spring of 1993; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of a study is to bring the non represented wages into
compliance with the City's compensation policy; and
WHEREAS, it was determined that such a study may have the facts and data
gathered by staff or a consultant, but the elected officials would perform the analysis;
and
WHEREAS, the Council has completed its analysis of the information gathered
and has made a determination as to the structure of a pay plan for the non represented
employees;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA,
WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The salary schedule for non represented employees shall contain five
steps with five percent (5 between each step.
Section 2. There shall be no performance award element above the top step of the
salary schedule.
Section 3. Employees shall be incorporated into the new plan, Attachment A,
effective October 1, 1993, with each employee being moved to the next step above their
current monthly pay rate.
Section 4. Employees who are placed at steps below the control point shall
receive their next step increase on their position pay review date.
Section 5. The annual cost -of- living increase applied to the non represented
salary schedule effective on January 1, 1994, shall be 90 of the CPI -W, Seattle /Tacoma
index, July -July, with a minimum of 2% and a maximum of 8
Section 6. Employees whose current salaries are above the top step of the new
salary schedule, commonly referred to as "Red Lined," shall receive no COLA increases
until their position comes back in line with the top step of the salary schedule.
