AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO APPOINT A POLICE JUDGE
PROVIDING FOR BOND FIXING THE SALARY AND FEES OF THE POLICE JUDGE
AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO 206
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TUKWILA Z
Section 1. That the Mayor be authorized to appoint one of the
Justices of the Peace, Tukwila Precinct, as Police Judge
for the Town of Tukwila.
Section 2. The Police Judge of the Town of Tukwila shall perform the
duties of his office as perscribed by law and ordinance.
He shall execute a bond to the Town of Tukwila in the sum of Five Hund.:.
red Dollars( §500.00) conditioned for the faithful performance of his
duties, and that he will faithfully account to the Town of Tukwila for
all monies coming into his hands, belonging to the Town, and pay the
same over to the proper officer.
Section 3. The Police Judge shall receive as compensation for his
services the sum of Fifty Dollars($50.00) per year, pay
,fable annually... He shall receive the same fees as are allowed to the
Justices of the Peace. In all cases before the Police Judge in which
the Town of Tukwila is the prevailing party he may include as statu-
tory attorney's fee a sum not to exceed Five Dallars(5.00).
Section 4.. The Police Judge shall have authority to appoint a Court
Clerk to assist him in his duties., The Court Clerk may be required
to,accept bail monies, issue a receipt therefor and account to the
Police Judge for said monies. He shall execute a bond to the Town
of Tukwila in the sum. of Five Hundred Dollars (p500.00) conditionedz.
for the faithful performance of his duties. (The Court Clerk shall vim,
receive as compensation for his services a portion of the court fees
as the Police Judge may deem just and reasonable The Police Judge
ahhgll have the authority to,appoint additional personnel to assist
him and /or the Court Clerk, having firat obtained the approval of the
Town Council.
Section 5. That Ordinance No. 206 is hereby repealed.
Section 6. This prdinance shall take effect immediately upon its
final passage and approval by the Mayor.
