This meeting will be held in-person in the Executive Conference Room at the Tukwila Community Center, 12424 42nd Avenue South. Call to Order LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT: The City of Tukwila is located on the ancestral lands of the Coast Salish people. We acknowledge their continuing connections to land, waters, and culture. Ongoing Business Commissioner Reports (open discussion) Staff Reports • Strategic Plan: o Next step is to ask community members to get involved in visioning to create our North Star to guide our development of the Strategic Plan: • In the new year we will need to recruit and promote. • From this visioning a Planning Group would be formed comprised of Commissioners, City Staff, and a few key partners. • Considerations: Tukwila City Hall • 6200 Southcenter Boulevard = Tukwila, WA 98188 • 206-433-1800 • Website: TukwilaWA.gov Page 2 a) Who needs to be part of the community visioning? b) How are we going to reach them and who is going to reach out them? c) What are we asking them to do, d) Who will host? (An idea would be to go where they are. What are some community partners that could host? e) Should sessions be all in person, or some online? We can also do some tabling and a community survey. • Rainier Symphony is requesting $4,800 to offset costs for the 2022 season. 7. New Business Commissioners • (Open Discussion) Staff • Community Development would like to present the Comprehensive Plan to the commission. shows how the City will meet the community needs for land, public facilities and infrastructure based upon a 20 -year forecast of housing and job growth. 8.
