CaII to Order: The meeting was called to order at 6:32pm
1. Roll CaII:
a. Board Members: Steve Miller, Cynthia Chesak, Verna Seal, Gerie Ventura, Cassandra Galante

b. Staff: KCLS Staff: Angelina Benedetti (Via Teams), City of Tukwila Staff: John Dunn
2. Approval of Agenda and Minutes —July 5, 2022
a. Agenda: Steve Miller motioned to approve the minutes. Cynthia Chesak second the motion, all
were in favor.
b. Minutes: Cynthia Chesak motioned to approve the minutes. Cassandra Galante second the
motion, all were in favor.
3. Public Comment — There were no public comments.
4. Unfinished Business
a. Open seats status update — John Dunn reported that the last open regular position was filled
and council approved by Cassandra Galante. The board welcomed her to the board. Student
position is still open.
b. Little Libraries update —John Dunn reported that the final 2 Little Libraries have been installed
and all 4 are on the website with locations and descriptions.
c. 2022 Board Budget—John Dunn provided an update on the current budget.
5. New Business
a. Pete Mayer, Interim Parks & Recreation Director introduced himself to the board and gave a
brief Bio.
b. Derk Speck, Economic Development Administrator gave on overview of the Economic Plan the
City is working on. He asked for feedback and information from the board.
6. Reports
a. KCLS: Angelina Benedetti provided an update on programming and facility updates. Board
members asked clarifying questions.
b. City of Tukwila: John Dunn provided an update on the Parks & Recreation fall programming and
grant awards and usage. Board members asked follow up questions.
7. Other: None
