ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON,
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR
AND THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR TO TAKE IMMEDIATE
ACTION TO HAVE THE 6" CEDAR RIVER PIPELINE TRANS-
MISSION MAIN REPAIRED.
WHEREAS, a severe break was discovered in the 6" Cedar River
Pipeline Transmission Main at the point it crosses the Burlington Northern
Railroad Tracks, and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to negotiate an emergency contract to
install a new water facility, and
WHEREAS, a line will be run from the Water District #125 main to
serve fire protection and portable water to the Seattle Rendering Works on a
temporary; base.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON
DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
The city council of the City of Tukwila acting in response
to an emergency situation, in order to preserve and protect
the public health, safety, and welfare, hereby authorizes
the Mayor and the Public Works Director to make such arrang-
ments as are necessary to repair or replace said broken water
mains.
The City Council further authorizes the expenditure of not
more than $15,000 from the Water Fund for said repair or
replacement.
This ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation
of the public health, safety and welfare and shall take
effect immediately upon its passage.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON,
