Bracing is provided for the last length of pipe but within 6' of the end of a feed or cross main. The following was reviewed: • Fire Sprinkler Sheet 1 of 1 dated 8/2014 The document was reviewed for compliance with 2013 NFPA 13, Installation of Sprinkler Systems and Tukwila Municipal Code Chapter 16.42, Sprinkler Systems. Drawing indicates new and relocated pendent sprinkler heads installed on an existing pipe schedule sprinkler system for tenant improvement work. I have found the fire sprinkler design to be acceptable with the following comments: 1. Ensure submittal drawing is stamped by a Washington Certificate of Competency holder as required by WAC 212-80 and City of Tukwila requirements. 2. An additional sprinkler appears to be needed in the soffit/ceiling pocket at gridline 15 between gridlines L and M, where two sprinklers are shown 18 feet apart. Provide additional sprinkler as required. 3. The tenant space appears to be protected by one of the pipe schedule designed sprinkler systems in the mall. Ensure the revisions comply with 2013 NFPA 13 Table 23.5.3.4 for pipe sizing of ordinary hazard pipe schedule. A resubmittal to Tuazon Engineering is not required provided the above are resolved to the satisfaction of Tukwila Fire Department. The comments made above do not relieve the contractor from compliance with requirements of contract drawings, specifications, or codes.
