V. Business Items
• Commission revisited traffic calming measures which include school zone cameras at
Foster High and Showalter Middle School. Kathy Hougardy was not clear were the
commission landed during the first presentation on the school zone cameras at the last
ESJC meeting in February 7, 2019. Tukwila Police Chief Bruce Linton and Trish Kinlow,
Tukwila Municipal Court Administrator both were present to answer any additional
questions. Chief Bruce Linton discussed speed and collision data of excessive collisions
in the school zone areas. Trish Kinlow spoke to the mitigations made available in Court
for people who receive tickets that cannot pay them, which includes significant
reductions and community service.
• Commission recommendations is to provide continues outreach and engagement with
families of Foster HS and Showalter Middle School. Chair, Mikkell Roeland emphasized
that she wanted to support Nichelle Paige in action based outreach for families in the
Foster and Middle School
