The SD355T(A) adds thermal sensors that will alarm at a fixed temperature of 135°F (57°C). Since these detectors are addressable, they will help emergency personnel quickly locate a fire during its early stages, potentially saving precious rescue time while also reducing property damage. Two LEDs on each sensor light to provide a local, visible sensor indica- tion. Remote LED annunciator capability is available as an optional accessory, PN RA100Z(A). The SD355R(A) is a remote test capable detector for use with D355PL(A) or DNR(A)/DNRW duct smoke detector housings. Features SLC LOOP • Two -wire loop connection. • Unit uses base for wiring. ADDRESSING • Addressable by device. • Rotary, decimal addressing: 01 — 99 with MS-92000D(LS), and 01 — 159 with MS-96000D(LS). ARCHITECTURE • Unique single -source, dual-chamber design to respond quickly and dependably to a broad range of fires. • Sleek, low -profile design. • Integral communications and built-in type identification. • Built-in tamper-resistant feature. • Removable cover and insect -resistant screen for simple field cleaning. OPERATION • Withstands air velocities up to 4,000 feet -per -minute (20 m/ sec.) without triggering a false alarm. • Factory preset at 1.5% nominal sensitivity for panel alarm threshold level. • Visible LED "blinks" when the unit is addressed (communi- cating with the fire panel) and latches on in alarm. MECHANICALS • Sealed against back pressure. • Direct surface mounting or electrical box mounting. • Mounts to: single -gang box, 3.5" (8.89 cm) or 4.0" (10.16 cm) octagonal box, or 4.0" (10.16 cm) square electrical box (using a plaster ring — included). OTHER SYSTEM FEATURES • Fully coated circuit boards and superior RF/transient pro- tection. • 94 -VO plastic flammability rating. • Low standby current. SD355(A) in B210LP(A) Base OPTIONS • Remote LED output connection, PN RA100Z(A). 2151_2251 B_CEIUNG.png Applications Use photoelectric detectors in life -safety applications to pro- vide a broad range of fire -sensing capability, especially where smoldering fires are anticipated. Ionization detectors are often better than photoelectric detectors at sensing fast, flaming fires. Construction These detectors are constructed of off-white fire resistant plas- tic. SD355(A) series plug-in, low -profile smoke detectors are designed to commercial standards and offer an attractive appearance. Installation SD355(A) series plug-in detectors use a detachable mounting base to simplify installation, service and maintenance. Mount base (all base types) on an electrical backbox which is at least 1.5" (3.81 cm) deep. For a chart of compatible junction boxes, see DF -60059. NOTE: Because of the inherent supervision provided by the SLC loop, end -of -line resistors are not required. Wiring 'T -taps" or branches are permitted for Style 4 (Class 8) wiring. SD355R(A) mounts in a D355PL(A) or DNR(A)/DNRW duct detector housing. Operation Each SD355(A) series detector uses one of 99 possible addresses on the MS-92000D(LS) and up to 318 (159 on each loop) on the MS-96000D(LS) Signaling Line Circuit (SLC). It responds to regular polls from the system and reports its type and status. The addressable photoelectric sensor in the SD355(A) series has a unique unipolar chamber that responds quickly and uni- formly to a broad range of smoke conditions. It can withstand wind gusts up to 4,000 feet -per -minute (20 m/sec.) without sending an alarm level signal. Because of its unipolar cham- ber, the SD355(A) series is approximately two times more responsive than most photoelectric sensors. This makes it a more stable detector. DF -52384:D • 2111/20x5 — Page 1 of 2 Detector Sensitivity Test Each detector can have its sensitivity tested (required per NFPA 72, Chapter 14 on Inspection, Testing and Maintenance) when installed/connected to a MS-92000D(LS) or MS- 96000D(LS) addressable fire alarm control panel. The results of the sensitivity test can be printed off the MS-92000D(LS) or MS-96000D(LS) for record keeping. Specification Voltage range: 15 — 32 VDC (peak). Standby current: 300 pA @ 24 VDC. LED current: 6.5 mA @ 24 VDC (latched "ON"). Air velocity: 4,000 ft./min. (20 m/sec.) maximum. N Connects to your central station's PSTN or IP receivers. F Minimizes false alarms by providing dual paths for self -tests. The Telguard TG-7FS is the ideal cellular alarm communications solution for commercial fire systems. The TG-7FS transmits alarm signals from the fire panel over the digital cellular networ to t e .esignate monitoring station. Compliant with the 2010 Edition of NFPA 72, the TG-7FS can serve as the sole communications path for the fire alarm system, replacing all of the landlines currently dedicated to the master control unit. On average, cellular monitoring costs the end user significantly less than a dedicated landlir.e. For each landline replaced with a TG-7FS, the monthly communications bill decreases. By being able to signal failures to the central station within—five minutes of an outage, the TG-7FS can be installed as the sole path for commercial fire installations. For existing installations, all landlines can be swapped for a single TG-7FS because of the new five minute supervision mode.
