The new crane rails will be hung from the existing glulam roof beams, and the crane will have a maximum lifting load of 10001b. The existing shop building is one story; glulam beams support the roof and bear on interior steel posts and exterior concrete tilt -up bearing walls. Lateral loads are carried by the concrete tilt -up walls and wood -sheathed roof diaphragm. Addition of new equipment is a Level 2 alteration as defined in 504.1 of the 2015 IEBC. Per 2015 IEBC section 807.4, a structural element whose stress is not increased by more than 5 percent (from gravity loads) is exempted from needing to meet IBC requirements. The following calculations demonstrate that the added Toad from the new rail crane will not increase the glulam beam stress by more than 5%, and thus no structural modifications are needed to support the new rail crane. Likewise, per section 807.5, the new rail crane will add a very small amount of mass to the overall building lateral system. The increase in design lateral loading will be much less than 10%, thus the lateral system is permitted to remain un -altered. This means Toad re -distribution on the anchors due to elastic deformations of the anchor plate are not considered - the anchor plate is assumed to be sufficiently stiff, in order not to be deformed when subjected to the design loading. PROFIS Anchor calculates the minimum required anchor plate thickness with FEM to limit the stress of the anchor plate based on the assumptions explained above. The proof if the rigid base plate assumption is valid is not carried out by PROFIS Anchor. Input data and results must be checked for agreement with the existing conditions and for plausibility! • Condition A applies when supplementary reinforcement is used. The 0 factor is increased for non -steel Design Strengths except Pullout Strength and Pryout strength. Condition B applies when supplementary reinforcement is not used and for Pullout Strength and Pryout Strength. Refer to your local standard. • Refer to the manufacturer's product literature for cleaning and installation instructions. • Checking the transfer of loads into the base material and the shear resistance are required in accordance with ACI 318 or the relevant standard! • Hilti post -installed anchors shall be installed in accordance with the Hilti Manufacturer's Printed Installation Instructions (MPII).
