V Business Items
• Shannon Fisher, Recreation Coordinator — Youth and Teens, provided
commissioners with an update for the Parks and Recreation department to
potentially provide afternoon childcare for the students. City staff was looking
for feedback from commissioners how to ensure spaces are made available for
youth that could not afford program cost. Commissioners recommended Parks
staff to come back once with program draft is complete.
• Equity Policy Implementation Committee (EPIC) subcommittee members, Hodo
Hussein, Nate Robinson, Trish Kinlow and Juan Padilla presented on updated
revisions from the ESJ Commissioners on the four Equity Policy draft Initiatives.
• Commissioners brainstormed on how to best use the ESJC budget for the
remaining of the year. Recommendations were put on the table for training and
for youth programming to name a few.
