Interest in diving deeper into the Comprehensive Plan at least one or two elements, particularly the housing portion. Commissioners felt they needed more detailed information as the previous presentation was very high level. Importance of the Commission to expose some blind spots, not just on the Comprehensive Plan but on everything. • Discussion of the 2023 ESJC budget and workplan Budget brainstorm: ESJC Retreats Equity Training — invite other commissions ESJC bigger picture planning ESJC funding as a way to multiply — i.e. ESJC would pay for translation of a Library Advisory Board Flyer ESJ Training for the Commission and City leaders Assisting teenagers Tukwila Equity and Social Justice Commission City of Tukwila — City Hall 6200 Southcenter Boulevard, Tukwila, WA 98188 Training in trades Scholarships for young people Future agenda brainstorm: Equity and Social Justice Bylaw Review, OPMA and Public Records EPIC 2023 priorities and 2022 overview Middle Housing study Comprehensive Plan — particularly Housing element Economic Development Plan • Commission reviewed the Foster High School, Black Student Union: Thank You Letter • Commission reviewed and discussed the ESJC Year -In -Review for 2022. VI Miscellaneous • Niesha Fort -Brooks, Staff Liaison Update — Ms. Fort -Brooks is leaving the City of Tukwila to serve as the Director of Community and Partnerships at the Family First Center in Renton. The Commission and City wishes her well in her next endeavor and offers the utmost thanks for all of her work in Tukwila. For up-to-date information, visit TukwilaWA.gov/departments/mayors-office/boards-and-commissions BOARD/COMMISSION Art Commission November 30, 2022: The Art Commission received a presentation on the Economic Development Plan. Rainier Symphony is requesting funds to offset costs for the 2022 season. Civil Service Commission January 19, 2023: The Commission was briefed on the most current Police staffing and recruitment efforts. The City is moving from the rule of three to the rule of five in order to increase the number and types of candidates in each pool. Human Services Advisory Board October 25, 2022: Advisory Board was presented on the Tukwila's Economic Development Plan and discussed the final 2023/2024 Funding recommendations. Tukwila Library Advisory Board January 3, 2023: The advisory board reviewed open seats on the board, the 2022 annual report and the goals and budget for 2023. Parks Commission December 14, 2022: The Commission received a presentation on the Economic Development Plan and an update on the Parks, Golf and Stewardship (year and review), including the Park Commission student vacancy. Planning Commission December 8, 2022: The Commission adopted the 9/22 and 10/27, 2022 meeting minutes, received an overview of the Tukwila Comprehensive Plan and reviewed the Planning Commission By -Laws, including amending or adopting revisions.
