Approval of minutes: No minutes to approve as no minutes were taken during the November 2022 meeting and the December meeting was cancelled. Chief's Updates: • Staffing Roster shared — more positive level of staffing due to extra effort on recruitment • Had first PD Town Hall • City Budget passed with 20% increase for PD. Allows to fill previously frozen positions and inflation. Recruitment budget. Take home cars. • Goals for 2023 (shared with PD at town hall) — staffing, officer wellbeing, internal communication effectiveness, coverage of staffing absences with some shift adjustments, grow community engagement with Brooke, reestablishing SRO's, continuing digitalization of records, begin work on 5 -year plan • Highlights — Crime was down a bit over the holidays. Bus area east of Penney's improving • Problems — drug use at Light Rail — Metro is working on revisions in landscaping and fencing. Smash and grabs continued. Community Engagement Coordinator's Report: • Worked with SHAG to develop own community watch group, expanding to Foster Greens Apts • Working on SAFE Place program launch • Attended Retail Theft meeting with local business leaders 15005 Tukwila International 8/vd.
