SPRINKLER SYSTEM DESIGN CRITERIA
1. The sprinkler system is designed in accordance with the requirements
of NFPA 13D.
2. Pipe sizing is based on hydraulic calculations determined by the most
hydraulically demanding two (2) sprinklers flowing. (See calculations)
3. Sprinklers are not included in areas meeting the exceptions allowed by
NFPA 13D. Sprinklers are provided in closets containing heat producing
applicances such as water heaters and washers & dryers.
4. All materials and equipment are to be listed for use in sprinkler systems.
5. All overhead piping to be CPVC plastic, except for the sprinkler riser which
will be schedule 40 steel. ( CPVC piping to be in joist space)
6. Pipe hangers and fasteners shall be provided & installed per the listing
and code requirements.
7. All piping shall be installed on the warm side of attic insulation. It is
the owners responsibility for 40+ degrees to be maintained at all times.
8. All necessary acceptance testing to be performed by installing contractor.
GENERAL NOTES
1. The water supply is ±150 psi static with 1000 gpm CO 20 psi residual.
