Bracing is provided for the last length of pipe but within 6' of the end of a feed or cross main. Any leakage that results in a loss of pressure in excess of 1.5 psi for the 24 hours shall be corrected. Puyallup, WA 98371 Phone: (253) 840-9900 Attention: Richard Moye Project Inspirus Credit Union BCE Project #: 217-396 Richard, The fire protection sprinkler system shop drawings and hydraulic calculations (dated December 12, 2017), seismic brace calculation (dated December 7, 2017) and equipment submittal (received December 14, 2017) for the above-named project have been reviewed and approved provided the following comments are incorporated into the updated submittal to the AHJ. The 2016 Edition of NFPA #13 and the City of Tukwila Municipal Code were used as the basis for this review. This review does not address any modifications or upgrades to the existing sprinkler system should they be required. Equipment Submittal Comments: 1. There are some small inconsistencies in the Table of Contents as compared to what submittal sheets are included. Verify each equipment submittal item and correct where required. Inconsistencies include the following: a. Submittal data for the Victaulic Style 77 flexible coupling has been provided but does not appear in the table of contents. b. Submittal data for the Victaulic Style HP -70 rigid coupling has been provided but does not appear in the table of contents c. Victaulic 004 (flexible) and 005 (rigid) couplings appear in the table of contents but not in the submittal data. d. Designate where the Victaulic Firelock Flange Adapter is to be utilized as it does not appear to be included in the submittal drawings. e. Ductile iron threaded fittings appear in the table of contents but not in the submittal data. f. The rod coupling is designated as FPPI in the table of contents, but literature for Anvil rod couplings were provided in the submittal data. g. The Erico 300 Universal Beam Clamp is designated as '/z" in the table of contents, but 3/8" in the submittal data. h. Beam clamp PS2651T1 appears in the Hanger "S" detail on sheet FP2.30 but does not appear in the equipment submittal. Fire Protection Sprinkler System Plan Review Page 1 Drawing comments: 2. It is recommended that a simple full height cross-section be added to the drawings per paragraph 23.1.3(4) of N.F.P.A. #13 (2016) to help illustrate the relative elevations and the ACT ceiling to be installed at the parking level described in Note #6. 3. Existing sprinklers that are to be "relocated" as part of the project shall be done so per N.F.P.A. #13 paragraph 6.2.1.1 and the guidelines in the Annex section A6.2.1.1 revised in the 2016 edition regarding when sprinkler replacement is required, or as required by the AHJ. Sheet FP2.10 4. The sprinkler symbol depicted for the parking level sprinklers is in error, and should be the open - circle upright sprinkler symbol shown in the sprinkler legend. 5. Ensure that the "loop" of the Metraflex Fireloop seismic joint assembly is properly supported upon installation. 6. It is suggested to add a note referencing Table 7.2.3.6.1 of N.F.P.A. #13 (2016) to the Inspector's Test Piping Detail "C". 7. Approximate capacity in gallons of the dry pipe system should be indicated on the drawing per paragraph 23.1.3(17) of N.F.P.A. #13 (2016). 8. Hydraulic node numbers "9" and "12" are difficult to identify due to overlapping text. 9. Values for "total water required" and "total pressure required" indicated in the Remote Area #3 Parking Level hydraulic calculation information box are incorrect and shall be verified and corrected. Sheet FP2.20 10. Seismic bracing has inadvertently not been indicated on the Level 01 sprinkler plan. 11. Ensure that the "loop" of the Metraflex Fireloop seismic joint assembly is properly supported upon installation. Sheet FP2.30 12. Seismic bracing has inadvertently not been indicated on the Level 02 sprinkler plan. 13. Ensure that the "loop" of the Metraflex Fireloop seismic joint assembly is properly supported upon installation. 14. There appears to be incorrect sprinkler placement and spacing in a few areas between Grids "CC" and "DD" and between Grids "6" and "8", [perhaps due to an updated wall layout. 15. Sprinklers appear to be spaced too far off the wall in some of the Exec Offices on the east side of the addition. 16. This floor appears to incorporate unique ceiling construction and possible special lighting features. Comply with all applicable obstruction rules. If the ceiling is wood -slat ceiling, verify that it is non- combustible or limited -combustible, or provide sprinkler protection above the ceiling. The maximum load capacity and spacing published by the manufacturer (Bull Moose Tube Company) for nonstandard (EddyFlow) pipe has been provided and is utilized per paragraph 9.3.5.5.2.1 of N.F.P.A. #13 (2016). Hydraulic Calculations Comments: 18. The 100 s.f. "Coverage per sprinkler" indicated on Remote Area #3 Parking Level cover sheet is incorrect. 19. Verify that the hydraulic calculations account for the friction Toss of the seismic loop (designated "SFx" in the calculations). It appears none is added when this fitting is selected. 20. Verify that the friction Toss for the flexible sprinkler drop (designated "fd" in the calculations) is correct for the flexible drop to be used.
