The M del H4 Dry Horizontal Sidew
Sprinklers allow the installation of
sprinklers in areas subject ta freezing
while being supplied from a wet pipe
sprinkler system. The primary advantage
of the adjustable version is the 2'..6" of
field adjustment that is not available on
the non-adjustable model This is
provided by the unique feature of a
special -elbow that allows more
adjustment then ever before. This
ensures perfect fit to the wallas the
sprinkler can easily be adjusted after the
outside face of the wait is instaned_
Because the l -t-1 Dry Horizontal
Sidewalt is allowed with NFPA 13
spacings for sidewall sprinklers in either
light or ordinary hazard; it can throw
considerably further than the alternative
method suggested in NFPA 13 of a dry .
pendent sprinkler on a 45* angle.
The H-1 Dry Horizontal Sidewar
sprinklers offer considerable aesthetic
appeal as the recessed configuration
allows the sprinkler to be much closer to
the wall than standard sidewalls would be
allowed.
The spacing. deflector distances and
associated installation criteria are per
NFPA 13 for standardsidewill sprinklers.
The escutcheon assembly is comprised
of a support piece permanently attached
to the sprinkler frame. The wall escutch-
eon plate has Vt. of field adjustment and
can be installed after the sprinkler.
Therefore, the total field adjustment for
the Model H-1 Adjustable Dry Sidewall
Sprinkler is VA*. The Model H-1 is Listed
by U.L. and U.L.C. for use as a standard
sprinkler that qualifies for installation in
acCordance with current NEPA 13
Standards.

Operation: A fusible alloy is sealed into a
bronze center strut by a stainless steel --
bat - Wt n the alloy melts at its rated-
temperature, the ball is forced upward into
the center strut releasing the two ejectors
and operating the sprinkler.
