ORDINANCE NO. 1049 /O
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON
CREATING THE TEMPORARY POSITION OF CLERK /TREASURER
PRO TEMPORE, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the elected position of City Treasurer for the City of Tukwila
terminates at 12:00 noon January 9, 1978, and
WHEREAS, until the appointment of a Finance Director, it is necessary to
create a temporary position to cover the City Treasurer's duties as prescribed
by law.
NOW, THEREOFRE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON
DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. There is hereby created the position of Clerk /Treasurer
Pro Tempore which shall be filled by the City Clerk who shall perform the duties
of the Office of the Clerk as well as the Office of the Treasurer.
Section 2. The Clerk /Treasurer Pro Tempore shall be appointed by the Mayor
and confirmed by a majority of the members of the City Council.
Section 3. The appointment shall terminate when the Finance Director has
been confirmed by a majority of the members of the City Council and has actively
assumed the responsibilities of the position.
Section 4. The Clerk /Treasurer Pro Tempore shall serve at the pleasure of
the Mayor.
Section 5. Adoption of this Ordinance is declared an emergency and said
Ordinance shall be void after March 1, 1978.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON at a
