The system has been designed per NFPA 72, 2002 edition requirements as well as WAC, IBC, IFC 2006, NEC current and your additional requirements. Fire Protection, Inc. will relocate 1 heat sensor, 1 strobe, and 1 horn/strobe on the existing system. The building is fully -sprinkled. The system shall monitor by zone activation as well as separate trouble signals. Monitoring shall be provided via UL listed Central Station, The Alarm Center LACEY, WA., over 2 analog lines via a built in DACT. Audibility shall be in compliance with NFPA standards with a 10 inch bell located on the outside of the building in the top 25% with a 117 candela strobe facing the first in -coming FIRE DEPARTMENT vehicles for easy building location. Interior DB shall be 75 DB minimum throughout. A full service and monitoring agreement is in force for the proper service and maintenance per NFPA requirements. All systems shall be UL certificated and placard. A full pre-test and NFPA form shall be conducted and completed prior to calling the AHJ for acceptance testing. Model SD505-AHS Addressable Heat Detector The SD505-AHS is a heat detector suited to virtually any commercial setting. The SD505-AHS is an absolute temperature device. This means that it responds in alarm if the temperature goes above the trip point (programmed at the panel). The SD505-AHS provides accurate temperature measurement data to the fire alarm control panel. This heat detector is particularly suited to environments where smoke detectors cannot be used because of the presence of steam or cooking fumes, such as in a kitchen. Operation The SD505-AHS unit is made up of an externally mounted thermistor with a specially designed cover that protects the thermistor while allowing maximum air flow. The thermistor reads the temperature from the air it takes in. It then transmits a signal representing the temperature to the IntelliKnight panel. If the temperature exceeds the trip point (programmed at the panel), an alarm occurs. The status LED lights continuously during the alarm period. Under normal conditions, the status LED blinks approximately every 15 seconds, indicating that the head is communicating with the loop. When installing Advance products, first attach a universal mounting plate to a four -inch square, four -inch octagon or double -gang junction box.The two -wire mounting plate attaches to a single -gang junction box. Next, connect the notification appliance circuit wiring to the SEMS terminals on the mounting plate. Finally, attach the horn, strobe or horn/strobe to the mounting plate by inserting the product's tabs in the mourting plate's grooves.The device will rotate into position,4ocking the product's pins into the mounting plates terminals. The device will temporarily hold in place with a catch until it is secured with a captured mounting screw. The SpectrAlert Advance series includes outdoor notification appliances. Outdoor strobes and horn/strobes (two wire and four wire) are available for wall or ceiling. Outdoor horns are available for wall only. All System Sensor outdoor products are rated between minus 40 degrees Fahrenheit and 151 degrees Fahrenheit in wet or dry applications. SpectrAlert Advance Specifications Architect/Engineer Specifications General SpectrAlert Advance horns, strobes and horn/strobes shall mount to a standard 4 x 4 x 11/2 -inch back box, 4 -inch octagon back box or double -gang back box. Two -wire products shall also mount to a single -gang 2 x 4 x 17/s -inch back box. A universal mounting plate shall be used for mounting ceiling and wall products. The notification appliance circuit wiring shall terminate at the universal mounting plate. Horn%Strobe Combination The horn/strobe shall be a System Sensor SpectrAlert Advance Model listed to UL 1971 and UL 464 and shall be approved for fire protective service. The horn/strobe shall be wired as a primary -signaling notification appliance and comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act requirements for visible signaling appliances, flashing at 1 Hz over the strobe's entire operating voltage range. The strobe light shall consist of a xenon flash tube and associated lens/reflector system.The horn shall have three audibility options and an option to switch between a temporal three -pattern and a non -temporal (continuous) pattern. These options are set by a multiple position switch. On four -wire products, the strobe shall be powered independently of the sounder.The horn on horn/strobe models shall operate on a coded or non -coded power supply. Outdoor Products SpectrAlert Advance outdoor horns, strobes and horn/strobes shall be listed for outdoor use by UL and shall operate between minus 40 degrees and 151 degrees Fahrenheit.
