Dear Sir:
The attached set of building plans have been reviewed by
the Fire Prevention Bureau and are NOT APPROVED as
submitted. The following concerns must accompany the plans
in order to properly evaluate:
1. The plans submitted are not complete, one or more of
the following elements is missing: property lines,
complete exit paths, use of rooms, general occupancy of the
building, fixed fire protection systems, hydrant
location(s), or construction type.
2. Documentation of water availability shall be provided
for this project before approval. 2,000 GPM required for
commercial building.
3. Fire hydrant location shall be provided on site plan
prior to approval.
4. A fire alarm system is required for this project. The
fire alarm system shall meet the requirements of NFPA 72
and City Ordinance #1528. An approved automatic sprinkler
system may be installed in lieu of a fire alarm system.
Local U.L. central station supervision is required.

All new fire alarm systems or modifications to
existing systems shall have the written approval of
The Tukwila Fire Prevention Bureau. No work shall
commence until a fire department permit has been

Call the Tukwila Fire Department at 575-4404 for
approval of any system shut down. Have job site
address, name, and the Tukwila Fire Department Job
Number available to confirm shut down approval. (City
Ordinance #1528)
