Keefe, Fire Chief June 1, 2000 Fire Department Review Control #D2000-147 (510) Re: Doak Homes Lot 9 - 4223 South 116th Street Dear Sir: The attached set of building plans have been reviewed by The Fire Prevention Bureau and are acceptable with the following concerns: 1. The minimum fire flow and flow duration requirements for one- and two-family dwellings having a fire area which does not exceed 3,600 square feet (344.5 m2) shall be 1,000 gallons per minute (3785.4 L/min.). Fire flow and flow duration for dwellings having a fire area in excess of 3,600 square feet (344.5 m2) shall not be less than that specified in Table A -III -A-1. Exception: A reduction in required fire flow of 50 percent, as approved by the chief, is allowed when the building is provided with an approved automatic sprinkler system. (UFC Appendix III -A, sec. 5.1) Acceptance of residential fire sprinkler systems shall include field verification of GPM and residual pressures meeting or exceeding the listing for the sprinkler type. 2. Your street address must be conspicuously posted on the building and shall be plainly visible and legible from the street. (UFC 901.4.4) 3. All electrical work and equipment shall conform strictly to the standards of The National Electrical Code.
