By October 15 each year, the City of Tukwila Finance Department will calculate and publish the hourly minimum wage rate for the upcoming year. MID-SIZED EMPLOYERS are required to pay employees not less than: EFFECTIVE Phase -In Wa . e Rate Starting July 1, 2024 $1.00 per hour less than 2024 hourly minimum wage rate Starting July 1, 2025 2025 hourly minimum wage rate WE ARE INFORMING THE PUBLIC: ► The City has a webpage dedicated to this issue: TukwilaWA.gov/MinimumWage ► Businesses, organizations and individuals can sign up on our webpage to receive updates. ► Direct mailings are being sent to many businesses and worker organizations. ► The City will host two online information sessions. ► Other communications channels include social media and the City's Hazelnut newsletter. EMPLOYERS NOT COMPLYING WITH LAW can be reported at MinimumWage@TukwilaWA.gov PENALTIES FOR NON-COMPLIANCE Persons alleging a violation of the measure, including retaliatory conduct, may bring a civil action against the employer. Additionally, the City of Tukwila's Finance Director may deny, suspend or revoke any license for violations of this new law. The City is currently developing regulations and procedures, with the final rules required to be published by May 28, 2023. Before finalizing these rules, the City wants feedback from worker organizations and affected employers. The draft regulations will be published on the City's website by mid-March.
