This project consists of a tenant improvement to an existing fire alarm system for a 'B' occupancy
building that is NOT sprinklered. This scope of work will include installing a new signal expander
power supply with new signaling devices and the relocation of existing smoke and heat detectors.
This is the battery calculation worksheet is for the new signal expander power supply and the
connected signaling devices.

GENERAL NOTES:
1. ALL WORK IS TO CONFORM TO NATIONAL ELECTRIC CODE STANDARDS.
2. WIRING METHOD IS TO BE OPEN CABLING EXCEPT WHERE IT IS EXPOSED AND BELOW SEVEN FEET - THEN IT IS TO BE IN CONDUIT.
3. ALL JUNCTION BOXES, COVERS, AND BACK BOXES ARE TO BE PAINTED RED.
4. PULL STATIONS ARE TO BE MOUNTED AT 48" TO 53" ABOVE THE FLOOR.
5. ALL WALL MOUNT INDOOR HORNS, STROBES, HORN STROBES, AND SPEAKER STROBES ARE TO BE MOUNTED 80" ABOVE THE FLOOR OR 6'
BELOW THE CEILING, WHICHEVER IS LOWER.
6. SMOKE DETECTORS SHALL BE INSTALLED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FOLLOWING:
A) 36" INCHES AWAY FROM ANY AIR HANDLING SYSTEM DIFFUSER
B) NOT IN CLOSE PROXIMITY TO ANY FLUORESCENT LIGHT FIXTURES
7. EXTERIOR HORN / STROBE SHALL BE MOUNTED ON THE TOP 2/3 OF THE OUTSIDE WALL OF THE BUILDING, AS HIGH AS POSSIBLE FOR
MAXIMUM VISIBILITY FROM THE FIRE DEPARTMENT ACCESS ROADWAY.
8. ALL WIRING PENETRATING ANY FIRE RATED BARRIER SHALL BE SEALED WITH MATERIAL WHICH WILL PREVENT PASSAGE OF FLAME AND HOT
GASES.
9. EXISTING HEAT DETECTORS IN WAREHOUSE AND ABOVE CEILING GRID TO REMAIN.
10. EXISTING PULL STATIONS TO REMAIN.
11. SMOKE DETECTORS AS SHOWN AND IN ALL ROOMS EXCEPT RESTROOMS AND BREAK ROOM.
12. HEAT DETECTORS IN RESTROOMS AND BREAKROOM.
