CITY TUKWILA The fire alarm system plans affixed hereto have been reviewed and accepted as meeting or exceeding minimum requirements of the City of Tukwila Fire Department, Bureau of Fire Prevention, with the following notes: Maintain square foot coverage of detectors per manufacturer's specificiations and per NFPA #72 in all areas including; closets, elevator shafts, top of stairwells, etc. Wire shall be in conduit or be UL listed Fire Protective Signalin Circuit Cable. Local UL Central Station supervision is required. Remote indicator lights are required on all above ceiling smoke detectors. A rechargeable batten back. -up is required on any fire alarm installation. There shall be enough batten capacity to run the alarm system in standby for twentw-four (24) hours and, after that time, sound all alert devices for at least five (5) minutes. All restrooms, kitchens, laundrt rooms, boiler rooms or anw room where there is apt to be moisture, shall have fixed temperature heat detectors installed. These detectors should have replaceable links for testing purposes. Kew box- When access to or within a structure or an area is unduly difficult because of secured openings or where immediate access is necessary for life-saving or fire -fighting purposes, the Chief may reavi re a key box . to be installed in an accessible location. The key box shall be a type approved bs the Chief and shall contain keys to gain necessary access as reouired bs the Chief. Crawley Fire Chief All electrical work and eauipment shall conform strictly to the standards of the National Electrical Code (NFPA *70)„,. A satisfactory contract covering the maintenance, operation and efficiency of the system shall be Provided by the property owner. The contract shall provide for periodic inspection and tests, for Proper maintenance service, and for service following operation of the swstem and shall be_ acceptable to the authority having jurisdiction. The above items are a general synopsis of reauirements for Fire Alarm Systems reauired by City Ordinance *1061, and are riot intended to detail all reauirements of NFPA *72. Final approval is subject to the fulfillment of reauirements of NFPA *72 and a successful functional test accomplished by the installer (witnessed by the Fire Department) upon completion of the system.
