Bracing is provided for the last length of pipe but within 6' of the end of a feed or cross main. The activation of the exhaust fan shall occur through an interlock with the cooking appliances, by means of heat sensors or by means of other approved methods. • Activation of the suppression system shall shunt all electrical power under the hood as well as the gas supply. • Install a "K" rated portable fire extinguisher within 30 ft. of the cooking equipment. • The hood suppression system shall be monitored by a U.L. Completed copies of the Contractor's Material and Test Certificates for both the overhead and underground piping should be submitted to this Bureau, including tests of the local alarm and main water supply test pipe (2 -inch). All piping, valves, and fittings should be listed and labeled by UL for fire service and installed, tested, and flushed in accordance with NFPA standards. A minimum temperature of 40°F must be maintained with a thermostatically controlled heating system in all areas containing wet pipe sprinkler equipment. 1. Flow tests generated by computer model are not acceptable for fire insurance rating purposes. Provide flow test conducted within the last 5 years. Provide detailed information regarding location and date of flow test, number and diameters of outlets flowed, pitot pressures, whether or not stream straighteners were used. 2. A density of .15/1,500 is acceptable for Group I occupancy (restaurant). 3. Hydraulic Calculations does not include 100 gpm at the base of the riser (BOR) for inside hose allowance as required per WSRB plus the 250 gpm (ordinary hazard occupancy) for outside hose allowance as required by NFPA 13. 4. The system should be designed to provide combined sprinider/hose residual flow after adjusting the flow test for a cushion of 10% below the static pressure (minimum of 5 psi and maximum of 10 psi cushion). 5.
