Tukwila Fire Dept. regulations pertaining to remodeling and /or modifications
of Boeing facilities within the City of Tukwila:
1. Drawings for ALL remodels and modifications will be submitted and
approved by the TFD. This shall be through the prescribed procedures
set forth by the Tukwila Building Dept. Approval of these drawings
shall be accomplished prior to the beginning of any work.
2.
Drawings are to be submitted to the TFD for ALL work involving
sprinkler systems. No work is to commence prior to approval:
a) Jobs involving less than 16 sprinkler heads may be via drawings
from Boeing Fire Prevention Engineering.
b) Jobs involving 16 or more sprinkler heads shall be via drawings
prepared and submitted by recognized sprinkler engineering companies.
Prior to submittal to the TFD, these drawings shall bear the stamp
of approval of the Washington Surveying Rating Bureau Factory.
Mutual Engineering or Industrial Risk Insurers.
3. The TFD is to be called (575 -4407) to inspect.all installations and /or
modifications of sprinkler systems. All tests required by NFPA,#13
are to be accomplished in the presence of TFD personnel.
4. Boeing Co. Facilities plumbing personnel may perform modification
and repair jobs on sprinkler systems. Extensive remodeling or'the
installation of new systems shall be performed by recognized sprinkler
companies. Also the performance of Boeing Co. plumbers will be
closely monitored. If.the Tukwila Fire Marshal determines that.work is
not being accomplished in an acceptable workmanlike manner, he may
require that ALL subsequent work shall be performed by recognized
sprinkler companies.
