STRUCTURAL STEEL NOTES
1. ALL STEEL WORK SHALL BE PAINTED IN ACCORDANCE
WITH THE PROJECT SPECIFICATIONS AND IN ACCORDANCE
WITH ASTM A36 UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.
2. ALL WELDING SHALL BE PERFORMED USING E7OXX
ELECTRODES AND WELDING SHALL CONFORM TO AISC AND
AWS 01.1. WHERE FILLET WELD SIZES ARE NOT SHOWN,
PROVIDE THE MINIMUM SIZE PER TABLE J2.4 IN THE AISC
"MANUAL OF STEEL CONSTRUCTION". PAINTED SURFACES
SHALL BE TOUCHED UP.
3. BOLTED CONNECTIONS SHALL BE ASTM A325 BEARING
TYPE (3/4"0) CONNECTIONS AND SHALL HAVE MINIMUM
OF TWO BOLTS UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE.
4. NON-STRUCTURAL CONNECTIONS FOR STEEL GRATING MAY
USE 5/8" DIA. ASTM A 307 BOLTS UNLESS NOTED
OTHERWISE.
5. INSTALLATION OF CONCRETE EXPANSION/WEDGE ANCHOR,
SHALL BE PER MANUFACTURER'S WRITTEN RECOMMENDED
PROCEDURE. THE ANCHOR BOLT, DOWEL OR ROD SHALL
CONFORM TO MANUFACTURER'S RECOMMENDATION FOR
EMBEDMENT DEPTH OR AS SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS. NO
REBAR SHALL BE CUT WITHOUT PRIOR ENGINEERING
APPROVAL WHEN DRILLING HOLES IN CONCRETE. SPECIAL
INSPECTIONS. REQUIRED BY GOVERNING CODES, SHALL BE
PERFORMED IN ORDER 70 MAINTAIN MANUFACTURER'S
MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE LOADS.
6. INSTALLATIONS WHERE THE GENSET IS LOCATED NEAR
EXISTING CABLE TRAY SHALL HAVE A NOTE ON THE
DRAWINGS CALLING FOR GRIP STRUT INSTALLATION OVER
THE TRAY FOR TO PROVIDE FOR A WALKWAY FOR TECHS
AND SERVICE PERSONNEL
7. EXISTING PLATFORM INSTALLATIONS SHALL INCLUDE THE
INSTALLATION OF AN ANGLE UNDER THE STRUCTURAL
MEMBER OF THE PLATFORM TO SECURE THE GENSET 70
THE PLATFORM IN LIEU OF THE GATING.
8, SURFACE MOUNTING OF CONDUITS SHALL BE AVOIDED AT
ALL POSSIBLE LOCATIONS WHERE PEDESTRIAN TRAFFIC
CAN OCCUR. WHERE THIS IS UNAVOIDABLE, GRIP STRUT
BRIDGING SHALL BE CALLED OUT FOR INSTALLATION TO
PROTECT THE CONDUITS AND POTENTIAL FOR PERSONNEL
TRIPPING HAZARDS.
ELECTRICAL NOTES:
1. ALL DETAILS ARE SHOWN IN GENERAL TERMS. ACTUAL
INSTALLATION AND CONSTRUCTION MAY VARY DUE 70 SITE
SPECIFIC CONDITIONS.
2. GROUND ALL ANTENNA BASES. FRAMES, CABLE RUNS. AND
OTHER METALLIC COMPONENTS USING GROUND WIRES AND
CONNECT TO SURFACE MOUNTED BUS BARS. FOLLOW
ANTENNA AND BTS MANUFACTURERS PRACTICES FOR
GROUNDING REQUIREMENTS. GROUND COAX SHIELD AT

ELECTRICAL PROVISION AND COMPLY WITH ALL
REQUIREMENTS OF GROUNDING STANDARDS..
5. RIGID CONDUIT SHALL BE USED WHERE DAMAGE CAN
OCCUR FROM VEHICULAR TRAFFIC OR EQUIPMENT DELIVERY
EXERCISES.
6. ATS AND GENSET LABELS ARE TO BE PROVIDED AND
INSTALLED WITH SERIAL AND CASCADE NUMBERS FOR THE
ATS AND GENSETS. LABELS SHALL BE ATTACHED VIA
ALUMINUM OR SS SCREWS - CONSTRUCTION MANAGER TO
PROVIDE TO SUBS FOR INSTALL AT SITE, DUE TO POSSIBLE
ASSET TRANSFER ACTIVITY, UPON RECEIPT OF LABEL
SPECIFICATION FROM SPRINT/NEXTEL.
7, NEW INSTALLATION SHALL BE PVC CONDUIT. USE SCH 80
ABOVE GROUND AND SCH 40 BELOW GROUND. ALSO REFER
TO CONSTRUCTION MANAGER DIRECTION FOR ANY CONDUIT
EXPOSED TO TRAFFIC (VEHICLE OR FOOT).
8. CONTRACTOR TO PROVIDE A NEW 66 BLOCK IF REQUIRED,
WITH FURTHER ROUTING TO THE RBS EQUIPMENT CABINET
AND LEFT WITH A 2' COIL OF WIRE. ALARM CABLING IN
THE TELCO CABINET SHALL BE INSTALLED IN A NEAT
FASHION WITH A 6" SERVICE COIL. CONTRACTOR SHALL
NOT MAKE PUNCH DOWNS ON THE TELCO BOARD 66
BLOCK
GENERAL NOTES:
1. THE SPRINT/NEXTEL METHOD OF PROCEDURE (MOP) MOPS
2061108 INSTALLATION OF PAD MOUNTED GENERATOR SETS
IS THE BASIS FOR ALL TECHNICAL INSTALLATION
SPECIFICATIONS; AND IN THE EVENT THERE IS A CONFLICT
BETWEEN THESE CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS OR THE
INSTALLATION CHECKLIST AND THE GENSET MOP, THE
CONTRACTOR SHALL FOLLOW THE DIRECTIVE DESCRIBED
WITHIN THE MOP AND CONTACT CONSTRUCTION MANAGER TO
APPRISE. EXCEPT NO PORTABLE GENERATOR S/0 CORD
STILL BE REMOVED
2. DRAWINGS ARE NOT TO BE SCALED, WRITTEN DIMENSIONS
TAKE PRECEDENCE, THIS SET OF DOCUMENTS IS INTENDED
TO BE USED FOR DIAGRAMMATIC PURPOSES ONLY. UNLESS
NOTED OTHERWISE. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR'S SCOPE OF
WORK SHALL INCLUDE FURNISHING ALL MATERIALS,
EQUIPMENT, LABOR, ANO ANY REQUIREMENTS DEEMED
NECESSARY TO COMPLETE INSTALLATION AS DESCRIBED IN
THE DRAWINGS AND OWNER'S PROJECT MANUAL.
3. THE PROPOSED FACILITY WILL 8E UNMANNED AND DOES
NOT REOUIRE POTABLE WATER OR SEWER SERVICE.
4. THE PROPOSED FACILITY IS UNMANNED AND IS NOT FOR
HUMAN HABITAT. (NO HANDICAP ACCESS IS REQUIRED).

FROM SITE VISITS AND DRAWINGS PROVIDED BY THE SITE
OWNER. DRAWINGS WERE PREPARED FROM SITE SPECIFIC

TELECOM SERVICES, LLC. STANDARDIZED DETAILS ARE TO BE
CONFIRMED AND CORRELATED AT THE SITE BY THE
CONTRACTOR. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL FIELD VERIFY ALL
DIMENSIONS. MODIFICATIONS DUE TO FIELD CONDITIONS

6. CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REPAIRING ANY
DAMAGE CAUSED BY THE CONSTRUCTION OPERATION.
7, CONTRACTOR SHALL 8E RESPONSIBLE FOR OBTAINING ALL
PERMITS AND INSPECTIONS REQUIRED FOR CONSTRUCTION.
8. CONTRACTOR SHALL REMOVE ALL TRASH AND DEBRIS FROM
THE SITE ON A DAILY BASIS. ALL INSTALLATIONS SHALL BE
100% CLEAN OF ALL OEPRIS AND METAL FILINGS SHALL BE
REMOVED FROM ENCLOSURES. SITE AREA, FIXTURES,
PLATFORMS. ETC.
9. PRIOR TO THE SUBMISSION OF BIDS, CONTRACTORS
INVOLVED SHALL VISIT THE JOB SITE TO FAMILIARIZE
THEMSELVES WITH ALL CONDITIONS AFFECTING THE
PROPOSED PROJECT. CONTRACTORS SHALL VISIT THE
CONSTRUCTION SITE WITH THE CONSTRUCTION/CONTRACT
DOCUMENTS TO VERIFY FIELD CONDITIONS AND CONFIRM
THAT THE PROJECT WILL BE ACCOMPLISHED AS SHOWN.
PRIOR TO PROCEEDING WITH CONSTRUCTION, ANY ERRORS,
OMISSIONS. OR DISCREPANCIES SHALL BE BROUGHT TQ THE
ATTENTION OF THE ARCHITECT/ENGINEER VERBALLY AND IN
WRITING.
10. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL RECEIVE WRITTEN
AUTHORIZATION TO PROCEED WITH CONSTRUCTION PRIOR TO
STARTING WORK ON ANY ITEM NOT CLEARLY DEFINED BY
THE CONSTRUCTION DRAWINGS/CONTRACT DOCUMENTS.
11. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL SUPERVISE AND DIRECT THE
PROJECT DESCRIBED IN THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS. THE
CONTRACTOR SHALL BE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL
CONSTRUCTION MEANS, METHODS, TECHNIQUES. SEQUENCES,
AND PROCEDURES FOR COORDINATING ALL PORTIONS OF
THE WORK UNDER THE CONTRACT.
GENERAL NOTES (CONT.):
12. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL INSTALL ALL EQUIPMENT AND
MATERIALS ACCORDING TO MANUFACTURER'S/VENDOR'S
SPECIFICATIONS UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE OR WHERE
LOCAL CODES OR ORDINANCES TAKE PRECEDENCE.
13. ALL WORK PERFORMED ON THE PROJECT AND MATERIALS
INSTALLED SHALL BE IN STRICT ACCORDANCE WITH ALL.
APPLICABLE CODES, REGULATIONS. AND ORDINANCES.
CONTRACTOR SHALL GIVE ALL NOTICES AND COMPLY WITH
ALL LAWS, ORDINANCES, RULES, REGULATIONS AND
LAWFUL ORDERS OF ANY PUBLIC AUTHORITY, MUNICIPAL
AND UTILITY COMPANY SPECIFICATIONS, AND LOCAL AND
STATE JURISDICTIONAL CODES BEARING ON THE
PERFORMANCE OF THE WORK.
14. THE STRUCTURAL COMPONENTS OF ADJACENT
CONSTRUCTION OR FACILITIES ARE NOT TO BE ALTERED
BY TI -US CONSTRUCTION PROJECT UNLESS NOTED
OTHERWISE.
15. SEAL ALL PENETRATIONS THROUGH FIRE -RATED AREAS
WITH U.L. LISTED OR FIRE MARSHALL APPROVED
MATERIALS IF APPLICABLE TO THIS FACILITY AND OR
PROJECT SITE.
16. CONTRACTOR TO PROVIDE A PORTABLE FIRE EXTINGUISHER
WITH A RATING OF NOT LESS THAN 2-A OR 2-A1OBC
WITHIN 75 FEET TRAVEL DISTANCE TO ALL PORTIONS OF
PROJECT AREA DURING CONSTRUCTION.
17. CONTRACTOR SHALL MAKE NECESSARY PROVISIONS TO
PROTECT EXISTING IMPROVEMENTS. EASEMENTS, PAVING,
CURBING, ETC. DURING CONSTRUCTION. UPON COMPLETION
OF WORK, CONTRACTOR SHALL REPAIR ANY DAMAGE THAT
MAY HAVE OCCURRED DUE TO CONSTRUCTION ON OR
ABOUT THE PROPERTY.
18. THE ARCHITECTS/ENGINEERS HAVE MADE EVERY EFFORT
TO SET FORTH IN THE CONSTRUCTION AND CONTRACT
DOCUMENTS THE COMPLETE SCOPE OF WORK.
CONTRACTORS BIDDING THE JOB ARE NEVERTHELESS
CAUTIONED THAT MINOR OMISSIONS OR ERRORS IN THE
DRAWINGS AND OR SPECIFICATIONS SHALL NOT EXCUSE
SAID CONTRACTOR FROM COMPLETING THE PROJECT AND
IMPROVEMENTS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE INTENT OF
THESE DOCUMENTS. THE BIDDER SHALL BEAR THE
RESPONSIBILITY OF NOTIFYING (IN WRITING) THE
ARCHITECT/ENGINEER OF ANY CONFLICTS, ERRORS, OR
OMISSIONS PRIOR TO SUBMISSION OF CONTRACTOR'S
PROPOSAL. IN THE EVENT OF DISCREPANCIES THE
CONTRACTOR SHALL PRICE THE MORE COSTLY OR
EXTENSIVE WORK. UNLESS DIRECTED OTHERWISE.
19. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PERFORM WORK DURING
OWNER'S PREFERRED HOURS TO AVOID DISTURBING
NORMAL BUSINESS.

COPPER WIRE. IF THE ATS IS OUTSIDE THE ENCLOSURE, IT SHALL BE BONDED TO
THE EXTERNAL DROUND RING WITH A (j2 AWG SOLID TINNED COPPER WIRE.
THE SURGE ARRESTORS DESCRIBED IN T1-415 MOP ARE TO BE MOUNTED ON THE
MOUNTING PLATE SOLD BY THE MANUFACTURER. THEY MAY BE GROUNDED IN ONE
OF THREE WAYS:
1. IF THE ARRESTOR MOUNTING PLATE IS MOUNTED ON THE TELCO BOARD AND
IF THE TELCO GROUND BAR IS BONDED TO THE EXTERNAL GROUND RING. THE
PLATE MAY BE BONDED TO THE TELCO GROUND BAR WITH A #2 AWG INSULATED
STRANDED COPPER WIRE AND SUITABLE COMPRESSIONOTYPE 2 -HOLE LUGS.
2. IF THE ARRESTOR PLATE IS NOT MOUNTED ON THE TELCO BOARD, BOND IT
DIRECTLY TO THE EXTERNAL GROUND RING WITH A #2 AWG SOLID TINNED
COPPER WIRE. USE A PVC CONDUIT THROUGH THE SHELTER WALL AT A 45
DEGREE ANGLE TO ALLOW THE GROUND LEAD TO EXIT THE SHELTER FOR
BONDING TO THE EXTERNAL GROUND RING.
3. IF AN EXISTING X12 AWG GROUND CONDUCTOR EXISTS THE SHELTER (TO THE
EXTERNAL GROUND RING) WITHIN 2FT OF THE. MOUNTING PLATE LOCATION, THE
PLATE MAY BE BONDED USING A #2 AWG INSULATED STRANDED CONDUCTOR WITH
A COMPRESSION TYPE "C" TAP AND A SUITABLE COMPRESSION TYPE 2 HOLE LUG.
MAKE ALL CONNECTIONS TO THE ATS CASE. THE GENERA -DOR FRAME. THE
EXTERNAL FUEL TANK (IF PRESENT AND IF SUPPORTED BY THE MANUFACTURER)
AND THE SURGE ARRESTOR MOUNTING PLATE WITH SUIABLE 2 -HOLE
COPRESSION-TYPE LUG MND STAINLESS-STEEL SCREWS. STAR -TYPE LOCK
WASHERS ANO NUTS. REMOVE PAINT AT THE POINT WHERE THE COMPRESSION
LUC CONTACTS THE MATING METAL SURFACE IN QUESTION TO ENSURE A GOOD
METAL -TO -METAL CONTACT. APPLY ANTIOXIDANT TO THE MATING SURFACES.
ENSURE THAT ALL UNDERGROUND OR OUTDOOR CONNECTIONS TO A GROUNDING
SYSTEM ARE EXOTHERMICALLY WELDED (CAD -WELDED).
PERFORM ALL GROUNDING WORK IN ACCORDANCE WITH STOS 2976175.
