1. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 6:OOpm.
2. Roll Call
a. Board Members: Present - Steve Miller, Cynthia Chesak, Verna Seal, Gerie Ventura, Marie
Parrish, Robin Boland Absent - Cassandra Galante
b. Staff:
i. KCLS Staff: Angie Benedetti, Steven Bailey, Mary Sue Howser
ii. City of Tukwila Staff: Michael May
3. Approval of Agenda and Minutes — February 7, 2023
a. Agenda: All were in favor of approval of Agenda.
b. Minutes: All were in favor of approval of Minutes with correction to attendance.
4. Public Comment: No public comments
5. Unfinished Business
a. 2023 Student Rep open seat status update — Cynthia Chesak reported that the student
candidate that was interested has decided not to pursue the seat. She continues to search.
b. Outreach strategy development discussion — Postponed until April meeting.
6. New Business
a. Discussion on joint event with Friends of Tukwila Library will be added to the May agenda after
the next Friends of Tukwila Library meeting.
7. Reports
a. KCLS
i. Angie Benedetti was promoted so her replacement Mary Sue Howser attended.
ii. Steven Bailey presented an update of programs and information for the board.
b. City of Tukwila: Michael May provided an update on City and Parks and Recreation events,
programs and other information.
