February 7, 2023 6:OOpm Location: Hybrid Tukwila community Center AND Via Microsoft Teams
1. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 6:OOpm
2. Roll Call
a. Board Members: Steve Miller, Cynthia Chesak, Verna Seal, Gerie Ventura, Cassandra Galante,
Marie Parrish, Robin Boland
b. Staff: KCLS Staff: Angie Benedetti, City of Tukwila Staff: John Dunn
3. Approval of Agenda and Minutes - January 3, 2023
a. Agenda: Verna Seal motioned to approve the minutes. Marie Parrish second the motion, all
were in favor.
b. Minutes: Steve Miller motioned to approve the minutes. Gerie Ventura second the motion, all
were in favor.
4. Public Comment: No public comments
5. Unfinished Business
a. 2023 Student Rep open seat status update - Cynthia Chesak reported that there is student that
might be interested in the student position and will be invited to join a meeting to see if they
are interested.
b. Annual Report -John Dunn reported thatthe annual report has been submitted to City Council.
6. New Business
a. Outreach strategy development discussion-CassieGalante led a discussion and strategy session
on how to outreach with SHAG residents. Work will continue in the next meeting.
b. Spring Event with The Friends of Tukwila Library. - Discussion tabled until the April meeting due
to the Friends of Tukwila Library meeting not happening until after the March Meeting.
7. Reports
a. KCLS provided an update of programs and information for the board.
b. City of Tukwila: John Dunn provided an update on City and Parks and Recreation events,
programs and other information.
8. Other
a. Discussion and Request for more ADA parking at main entrance end or Open Senior entrance
again.
b. Discussion on Parking at Tukwila Library being an ongoing issue and not being enforced.
