Dear Al,
In reviewing the above mentioned project plans, please
note the following items:
1. Per UFC Section 12.104(b), EXIT doors shall
be openable from the inside without the use
of a key or any special knowledge or effort.
2. Per UFC Section 12.113(b), at every required
exit doorway, and wherever otherwise required
to clearly indicate the direction of egress,
an EXIT sign with letters at least six inches
high and readily distinguishable shall be
maintained. (rear exit)
3. Maintain sprinkler protection for all enclosed
areas
Maintain hose station coverage per City Ord. #1141.
All modifications to sprinkler systems shall have
the written approval of the Washington Survey-
ing Rating Bureau, then of the Tukwila Fire
Dept. No work shall commence without approved
drawings.
4. Fire extinguishers shall be provided per NFPA #10,
as a minimum requirement.
Install the following quantity of 2 -1/2 gallon
pressurized water extinguishers (2).
Install the following quantity of 2 -A, 10 B:C
"All- Purpose" dry chemical fire extinguishers(2).
5. Per NFPA requirements, extinguishers with a gross
weight of 40 pounds or less shall be hung so that
the top of the extinguisher is not higher than
60 inches above the floor. Units weighing more
than 40 pounds shall be not higher than 42 inches
above the floor.
