Dear Al,
In reviewing the above mentioned project plans, please
note the following items:
1. Maintain sprinkler protection for all enclosed
areas.
Maintain hose station coverage per City Ordin-
ance #1141.
All modifications to sprinkler systems shall
have the written approval of the Washington
Surveying Rating Bureau, then of the Tukwila
Fire Department. No work shall commence
without approved drawings.
2. Fire extinguishers shall be provided per NFPA
X10, as a minimum requirement.
Two 2 -1/2 gallon pressurized water extinguishers
are required.
Two dry chemical fire extinguishers rated 2 -A,
10 B:C are required.
3. Per NFPA requirements, extinguishers with a gross
weight of 40 pounds or less shall be hung so
that the top of the extinguisher is not higher
than 60 inches above the floor. Units weighing
more than 40 pounds shall be not higher than 42
inches above the floor.
Extinguishers shall be located so as to be in
plain view (if at all possible), or if not in
plain view, they shall be identified with a sign
stating, "FIRE EXTINGUISHER with an arrow
pointing to the unit.
