January 2, 1962
The regular meeting of the Tukwila Town Council was called to order
by the Mayor, Charles 0. Baker, at 8 :00 P.M. Councilmen present were
Stan Minkler, R.K. Doyle, E.W. Ives and Jerry Hamilton.
The minutes of the December meeting were read and approved as read.
Mayor Baker administered the oath of office to Mrs. Balk, the new City 01
Clerk. 1
The current bills were examined and vouchers signed. Mr. Minkler moved
all bills approved by the finance committee be allowed and warrants drawn
up for their respective amounts, seconded by Mr. Doyle and carried.

The meeting was recessed at 9:30 to convene on Monday January 15, 1962.

The report of the water department was read and placed on file.
Mayor Baker discussed with the council the additional expense incurred
by the town in the development area. He asked permission to send a
letter so advising the developers. Mr. Hamilton moved Mayor Baker send
such a letter, seconded by Stan Minkler and carried.
Mayor Baker read a copy of a letter, written by Mayor Aliment of Renton,
to our Engineer A.P. Burzenski, in which Mayor Aliment stated that the
Renton City Council were taking up the de- annexation problem in the
very near future.
Mr. Hamilton moved that an ordinance be drawn up, providing that future
building permits stipulate that heavy duty safety glass be used in
glass doors, in new structures.
Mayor Baker asked the Fire Department and Council to work on the fire
phone problem, appointing a party to answer the fire calls.
Mayor Baker administered oath of office to Judge Phillips, as Municipal
Judge 0 1
Mr. Doyle moved ordinance no. 352 limiting the scope of exsisting utility francises
relating to future annexation, be platted on its first reading, seconded by Mr.
Hamilton and carried.
Mr. Doyle moved ordinance no. 352 be placed on its second reading, seconded by Mr.
Hamilton and ::carried.

seconded by Mr. Hamilton and carried.
Mr. Ives moved the adoption of Resolution 150 declaring the decision of the
town to advance from a town of the 4th class to a city of the 3rd class, seconded )3
by Hamilton and carried.
Mayor Baker publicly thanked Stan Minkler for working ont.his vacation, toward getting
new office furniture.
